  Konnect Design is a freelance Web Site design company based in Stockport, UK. We provide complete or partial Web Site solutions and Internet-related services to small and medium sized businesses who wish to create or develop their web presence in the UK. We specialise in economical solutions for small businesses to develop first-time Web Sites. We also re-design older, out-of-date Web Sites to give them fresh new looks and refine functionality.

• why do I need a web site ?

  If you have no Web Site or, worse still, a poor Web Site it can and will make the difference between a sale plus possible new regular business or no sale at all. Imagine a potential customer. He or she may see your company among a dozen or more others offering similar services, for instance, in the Yellow Pages. So how do they choose from all these alternatives? To make the right decision they will obviously need more information. Some of these ads will have a Web Site address. Others may just have a phone number or email. So what's the quickest and most effective way to find out more? It doesn't take much figuring out, does it?

  A well designed and written Web Site that's clear and easy to use will give your potential customer all the information they need at a glance. If you can impress them at this stage, then they'll pick up the phone. Or, if they can buy online, even better.

  As a freelancer, I am personally responsible for all the work carried out - my professional reputation depends on it. I am also interested in repeat business and recommendations - that is, after all, where most business comes from. Working for myself also means that I can keep overheads to a minimum and those savings can be passed on to you, the customer. And with many contacts in the business, if the scale of a project demands it I can outsource and take on the role of a larger company.

• what we are not

  We are not a large, expensive design or advertising agency. We do not carry large overheads because they are totally unnecessary for high quality web design and we do not speak jargon.

• why I started out

  I started out of sheer frustration. For web design I could only see either techies who built websites that functioned and looked bad or suits / advertising companies that built great looking sites that didn't work or do the business. I could see a gap in the market for a plain-speaking, competitive, no-nonsense approach at sensible prices. I aim to fill that gap.

  We can offer you everything from purchasing your Domain Name, to setting up and managing your Hosting and Email, right through to training you to update your own site so you don't have to run back to us each time you need a small bit of text changed!
